Lil Wayne may have been the first to record "Lollipop," but the guys of Framing Hanley sure do a rockin' rendition of the hip-hop hit. We chatted with bassist and backing vocalist Luke McDuffee about their cover's success, the crazy video, and more. Check it out!
You had a busy 2008. How are you planning to top it in 2009?
Lots and lots of touring. We also have some new songs in the works that we'll hopefully get to start recording by the end of the year.
What made you guys decide to cover "Lollipop"?
It was Nixon's idea originally and it just sort of took off due to how much crowd response we got out of it.
Has Lil Wayne heard the song? Does he like it?
We haven't heard it directly from him, but we've heard a rumor that he's heard it and likes it.
The video is crazy! What was that shoot like?
Three days of madness.
What other songs would you like to put your own spin on?
I like a lot of '90s alternative music personally, so covering an STP or Foo Fighters song would be a blast for me.
You guys are on tour right now -- what's the weirdest thing on your rider?
Socks. You can never have too many socks.
