So you waited and waited for them to be done filming, you pre-ordered the DVD, waited some more, and then it finally arrives, you pop the DVD in -- and what? No bonus features? What the heck were they thinking? We're not gonna lie, we were pretty disappointed with the lack of special features on the original release of Fully Flared too, but let's not be spoiled here. It did live up to the hype of being one of the best videos ever, with one of the best line-ups ever, so lets not get greedy. But you don't film for a video for four years and not have any bonus footage to show for it, so what gives? Well, we all saw it coming, and here it is -- The Final Flare. And to say that Lakai has outdone themselves again would be an understatement.
This three-disc collection includes everything you would expect, and then some. From trailers, alternate edits, and unused footage, to photo galleries and commercials, there is plenty of stuff on here to keep you busy. There's also Eric Koston and Guy Mariano's Battle Commander edits from The Berrics, as well as a special "Weekend At Biebel's" feature. Oh, and how could we forget to mention the hour-long documentary on the making of Fully Flared! There are interviews with the team, unused footage, bails, and a behind the scenes of how the intro was made. And for you guys who hated on the slow-mo in the original video, most of the slow motion stuff is in regular motion in the documentary, so that was cool to see, as well. And as if you couldn't get enough visuals, there's a 46 page booklet included. Inside the booklet is the history of how they came up with the name of the video, all of the ads building up to the release of Fully Flared, photos from filming missions, and much more.
Basically, we could've written up an in-depth review on this, blabbering about how each clip is so good, but you're just going to have to take our word for it and find out for yourselves. Just know that it's the best bonus features, from one of the best videos ever. And for you Blu-Ray fans, the third disc is a Blu-Ray disc, so get ready to view most of this stuff in ridiculous quality!
What are you waiting for? Get it here!
